If I'm not mistaken, the eye thing may be a reference to the fact that in myths, a possessing gypsy's eyes are good for visions or something of the sort, making them valuable and/or coveted. |

I'm almost positive that the widow is saying 'Swived'. In it's origins on dictionary.com, it does mention the word 'sweep'. I think that either way it's an innuendo.
I had also originally thought that chimney was pronounced 'chimbley' because of a child saying it, but some regions do just say 'chimbley' instead of 'chimney'.
