Placebo – In The Cold Light Of Morning Lyrics 15 years ago
I always thought this song was about someone who abused not only drugs but their families love for them. They used and used their family and cared nothing about how it made them feel, because they were high. Despite the families pleas the person is too high to care. Also the kettle whistle part could be interpreted as the family taking the addict back despite their flaws though they really shouldn't and not only does the addict forget everything so does their family. I think it is a song about addiction and enablers.

Placebo – Special Needs Lyrics 15 years ago
I always thought this song was about two friends (or brothers) that were really close as children. The brother singing the song is crippled and has "special needs". When the brothers age and mature they seperate. It is truly sad because the one with "special needs" feels so loving towards the other brother and when they grow the brother this song is to abandons him. I always thought this was about childhood friendship and as people age they seperate for different reasons, and some of those reasons, as described in this song, are not pleasant. This song is beautiful and has a strong sense of melancholy in it. It is sad because I would be the brother that abandoned his childhood friend.

I also like the idea that this is about someone who was hurt by someone and they are saying "I hope you remember what you did to get where you are".

Placebo – For What It's Worth Lyrics 15 years ago
In my opinion this song COULD be interpreted to be a valid first hand account of Roland Deschain from the Dark Tower series by Stephen King.

I know it is not though.

I say that it could be relevant to Roland's story because it is about blind determination and the fuel that it gives him even though it could only end badly, and to gain that goal everyone he knew and loved will be betrayed by him.
