I honestly feel this song screams individualism. It strikes right into the way I feel. I'm sick of not being able to be who I am because of all the dumb people are practically clones of each other. The more I become myself the more I am rejected by the idiots, but in turn I make some pretty awesome friends. I'm ready to become who I am, because I don't give a hoot about what you think. You can mock me all you want because I'm different, but i'm more comfortable with being who I am than being a clone of society. |

oh man this song is like what happened to me lately. Mandy is actually a nickname for Amanda, and last year I fell in love with a girl named Mandy, she was the most amazing girl I met. We had something going, then she just called it off 3 months ago, and I'm still trying to get over it. This song is definitely about hopelessly liking some one that you can't have. I remember when she showed me this song, I would just listen to the chorus, I loved it, now such it fell apart, I read the lyrics again and see the real meaning... |

I love this song, and I definitely agree with you guys. I recently went through something like this. I thought she was the one, I love her so much, then she broke it off, and it was so sudden. She's taking it so lightly, she's enjoying her life, and I am taking it so hard, I can't let her go, its been over a month, and its so hard, I've been an emotional mess since it was called off. And like the song says, I hope she finds what she is looking for, but I honestly have trouble believing she'll find a guy who liked her as much as I did... so this song does mean something to me. |

I love this band so much, and this is one of my favorite songs by them. I think its about how he's going through something, maybe he's lost something important. He feels he can never love or trust again, he's hurt. I see this as God telling him to relax, because its going to be alright, and that He's there for him no matter what. And it will get better. No matter what he does He will still love him, and will always be there to accept him as if he were an innocent, because He loves him. I'm going through something right now, I lost something important and this song means much to me. Its gives me hope, that one day I will be able to trust and love again, and the hurt won't last forever. |

I think you are sort of right, but I interpret it differently.
I'm going through something like this...
I think its about how he fell in love he gave the best of himself to her, and when it ended, he can never get over her. He still loves her.
This other girl likes him and he doesn't want to hurt her, and he's telling her to cast her feelings away, because he's not worth it. Because he's not capable of loving her back. He feels that he will only hurt her so he's telling her for her own good to let go of him. So really he feels that he's not worth it, and she needs to find someone who can love her. But he doesn't want her to go away, because he does like her, he just doesn't think he can promise a serious relationship because the best part of his love is for someone else. Maybe its a plead to just be friends?
I've been on both ends of this, I've been in love with someone who felt this way, and now being let down, I'm in the same circumstance as she was in... so its just my take on the song. |

I love this song. The main singer of Muse wrote this song to his girl friend. It shows incredible love.
I know this band is band is not Christian, but I like to think of this song as God singing to us(accept the lyrics saying "Please me Show me how it's done Tease me"). I like these lyrics so much. "I know you've suffered But I don't want you to hide It's cold and loveless I won't let you be denied" "I'll make you feel pure Trust me" "You may be a sinner But your innocence is mine"
"I want to reconcile the violence in your heart

A lot of this song shows the deep love that God has for us and how he wants to save us.
And again, I know this is not what the writer intended, but I like to think of it this way.

I first heard this song on Lie to Me. I love this song. The lyrics "its a brand new day" brings so much hope. Every new day is another chance to live. It encourages me to live the day to the fullest, and to keep a positive attitude about it. Also, I like the lyric "I've taken hits like a brawler But I'm getting back up again". This shows that when you decided to change and live life to the fullest, you will encounter problems. But the best thing to do is to bounce back up and learn and to continue living each day likes "its a brand new day" |
