Ball Park Music – It's Nice To Be Alive Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I was listening to Triple J and Sam was talking to The Doctor about this song. He said he wrote it just after reading The God Conspiracy, which I suppose sheds some light on the meaning of the song. I feel that this song is a call to live in the moment and enjoy life, without structuring it by adhering to a religion and 'wasting time' on things that have no tangible reality. |
Grizzly Bear – Foreground Lyrics | 12 years ago |
These lyrics are completely wrong. According to the Grizzly Bear website; "Take on another shift Palms in the middle, hands in the middle Work out another rift Something is muffled, another juggle This is a foreground It is a foreground A cross country miss Take direction, can’t connect it I’m afraid this is Ten detected, nine in a wreck and… A little jetty fight Pattern evolving, motion insolvent Something about this might Take all evening, I’ll just be cleaning This is a foreground It is a foreground" http://grizzly-bear.net/music/ |
Ball Park Music – Sea strangers (I don't really know you) Lyrics | 12 years ago |
This song is called 'Sea Strangers (I don't really know you)' |
Arctic Monkeys – Seven Lyrics | 12 years ago |
At the start of the song, Matt counts to 7 before they begin, not the usual 8. |
Arctic Monkeys – Da Frame 2R Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I love this song! Alex is such an astute lyricist; the words paint such a vivid picture in your mind so you know exactly what he is talking about. Da Frame 2R is a perfect example - a clever observation of one of those effortless, egotistic guys who manage to get all the girls with their completely cool and detached attitude. I particularly love 'It's a war you can't win and the first and the last are two things you'll never be my darling' - showing that it's futile to even try to make an impression on this man. The only thing is; anyone got a clue as to the name? 'Da Frame 2R' has be stumped. |
Arctic Monkeys – Library Pictures Lyrics | 13 years ago |
it actually really does sound like that |
Arctic Monkeys – All My Own Stunts Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I think that the song is actually basically about 'watching cowboy films' and a longing that that sort of classic beauty and drama would be recreated in the narrator's life. They wish that they were a part of these films, as it seems more desirable than their own life. Of course, I could be wrong. And that said, this is probably only the surface meaning. After all, it IS Alex Turner who wrote the lyrics, I'm sure there's much more to it than that. |
The Wombats – Jump Into The Fog Lyrics | 13 years ago |
really i think you're all reading into it a bit much, i don't think it's extremely nihilistic or anything. i think it's basically about being fed up with the monotony of life, and doing something you wouldn't always do, something immoral, a little bit dangerous, just to shake things up. i think that's the 'jumping into the fog' part... just doing, no second thoughts, not even knowing what's going to happen or thinking of the consequences. so he hires a hooker, or more likely picks up some chick for a one night stand, because he just wants to shake things up. he doesn't have any ulterior motives ('snakes and ladders are banned in here...i'm only here because') - just wants a bit of fun. sounds like he's done it before but with no regrets ('i've made some bad decisions...when it's wrapped in debauchery') - all about spontaneity and experiencing life in the moment ('drop your plans' etc). and i am fairly sure it is 'in the hope that we hit the ground upright' |
Radiohead – Little by Little Lyrics | 13 years ago |

Kate Miller-Heidke – Motorscooter Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Kate Miller-Heidke – No Truck Lyrics | 14 years ago |
this is a pretty good song. i think it's obvious what it's about, a baby who obviously takes up a lot of time and attention. the term 'no truck' is slang, in this context it pretty much means 'ill have nothing to do with it'. |
Franz Ferdinand – Bite Hard Lyrics | 14 years ago |
thank you! i agree. i always thought it was more about a break up, not being apart or whatever. i really like your analysis. makes sense. thanks :) also, my fave song off album too! |
The Clash – Rock the Casbah Lyrics | 14 years ago |
