To me this song is a big middle finger to Attack Attack? That's right, I changed the exclamation mark to a question mark. The question is how gay did Attack Attack become as soon as Austin left and the answer is super gay. Who else agrees that Austin is like the Beyonce of screamo or crabcore or whatever this is called. He held the "take this back" note for approximately 52 seconds. Amazing. As for you Caleb, if that is your real name, you single-handedly ruined a perfectly good band. What do you get with a handful of great musicians and one gay vocalist. Attack Attack? Where you at? There in Oklahomo. |

I see the line "her teeth like white seeds in a scarlet fruit" like this. Scarlet is used in many TDWP songs and is the color representing sin. White, being the color of purity, is the color of the seeds within the scarlet fruit. To get to the white seeds you must overcome all of the scarlet fruit until you get to the center. The journey to the seeds could be seen as temptations, obstacles, or trials. Once you overcome hardships of the scarlet fruit you obtain the pure white seeds which you may then plant and spread around. I didn't explain the rest of the song because I think that has already been made clear. |

I didn't think of plastic surgery at all when I read these lyrics. He uses it as a metaphor but I don't think it's meant to be taken as the meaning of the song. I just thought that life can be hard and no matter how much we want to close our eyes and pretend like it doesn't exist, we have to open our eyes and face it. |

No one has mentioned this so far but Dallas had a fiansee that died in a car crash. He was driving the car and was fine but his wife died right in front of him. I think this song is talking about her. It sounds like his life sucked and he was depressed but when she came into his life she made everything better. She stood next to him through thick and thin and felt his deepest wounds. It sounds like this was something no one had bothered to do for him and for that he thanks her. Even though she may be gone she gave him something that cannot die, love. It changed his heart for the better and I'm not sure what Dallas is up to nowadays but his life is definetely better because of the impact she had on him. |

There have been a lot of different opinions about what this song is about and they could all be right. I think the meaning of this song really depends on what your going through when you discover it. I could love this song for a completely different reason than some other person but that does not make it wrong in anyone's perspective. To me the reason why the person in this song has such a hard life does not matter, the fact is that they have a hard life. To me, the basic meaning of this song is that when life gives you a really hard day and it seems like thiers no hope, you have to keep your composure and look to the future because thier will be better days if you lift your head up high. When I first looked up these lyrics I respected them but I didn't love them because they weren't personal to me. Five days after I looked up the lyrics I got the news that my parents were getting a divorce. They didn't fight in front of me or act like they were having problems but they were for a long time and this came as a shock to me; my family was dying. This was easily one of the hardest days of my life so far and I almost lost it but I put in the earphones and August Burns Red gave me hope that it will all get better and it has. For that I applaud you August Burns Red. Congratulations on making such a beautiful song. |

This album is amazing. It's a complete story that is meant to be taken from the The Great Fire to The End. By far one of the best written albums Iv'e ever heard. The story starts with the fact that his house has burned down, and then his wife cheating on him, and then the confession that he burned down the house, and how his daughter is going to be taken away, and why he did all summed up into fourteen amazing songs of epicness. Well played Silverstein, well played. |

If you don't know the black sheep of a family is the member of the family who has gone down the wrong, dissapointing path. I'm a little confused about what the black sheep did specifically but it sounds like he made some major life choices that weren't too wise. Everyone around the black sheep knew that he was going down a bad path but there's nothing they could do. "All of my strength cannot save you if you are unwilling to help yourself." (As I Lay Dying, Falling Upon Deaf Ears) Great line here, what's done is done. Life is like a pen, you can't erase the mistakes. (Me) Pain must exist in order for healing to survive, but in this case, its too late for the black sheep. Now the people around the black sheep have given up on him; they just can't stand to watch him go down that road any longer, it would be too painful. What was once his life is now lifeless. What was once his life is now his jail cell. |

Truly epic in every sense of the word. The first line is as simple as it sounds, were suffocating. There's no more room to breathe, we are running out of oxygen. It's too late, America as the dominating superpower of the world is coming to an end, it's inevitable. "The few the proud no longer sing their song. One nation under God, it's us against the world." I feel there's nothing to be proud of anymore, America has become a beast. "Forcing consumption" to me reminds me of a movie I just saw, Green Zone. It's about how our government pretended that Iraq had WMDs when really we just wanted to spread democracy. What's worse is the oncoming generation believing that nothing is wrong. We've got a group of spoiled kids who think there the best simply because they are American. The whole 1,2,3s thing is saying that, for example China, has a much more efficient education system than America and in this world, knowledge is power. I believe that in no less than 50 years, China will replace the United States as the dominant superpower; it can't be stopped, we have fueled the flame for far too long. To finish this beautifully epic song they use one of the most cliche phrases in history, beauty has become the beast. But in this context, I think this phrase amplifies the song's epicness by at least 26. Truly great song, one of thier best. Can't wait to see these guys live in May. |

What a beautiful song. If you don't know by now Dallas was driving the car that killed his fiancee. When the accident happened he kept silent for days, not wanting to accept what had happened. The line "it rained for days" I think implies the gloomy atmosphere his mind was in. Everyone eventually will have to experience the pain of losing someone close, hopefully not quite how Dallas did but it is inevitable. He says he never wanted to learn but it was her death that changed him and made him into a better man. I also think that judies are a significant flower to thier relationship. He doesn't want to mover her things out because to me, that's when you accept that she's really gone. It sounds like he's having trouble sleeping and having nightmares about what must been a horribly traumatizing incident. I'm not sure about this part but when he says "I'm coming home but I'll be late", I think it means that he has thought about suicide in order to be with her heaven but he realized that his time on this Earth wasn't up, there's still more to experience. I think he thinks that if God wanted him to join her, he would've joined her. I think "what is faith if I can't believe" means how could he believe in a God when it was that God that made him witness the death of his fiancee. The last line is definetely survivor's guilt. He thinks it should've been him and he hates himself because of it. "God take me because I hate me." Beautiful. |

I think based on interpreting the lyrics of their previous album (follow and feel mostly), he let a wonderful girl go that he didn't deserve. Now he's doubting that he will ever find someone as good as her and he is depressed. This is where Duffmyster99 interpretation comes in, he's wondering if what he is doing is on the right path. Cove also says he's been trying to let go and he's done sleeping, which I think means his mopey, depressed state of mind. He realizes that he won't find someone better if he doesn't take a leap of faith and get back out there. The sun is coming out, he can't hide anymore. |
