| Jane Siberry – Love Is Everything Lyrics | 6 years ago |

The song is simply about the experience of being in love. The question of, why do we do it? With all the residual pain, why love at all? The lyrics talk about how love is everything you’d imagine it to be and how it is all worth it. The things you feel and the memories are always worth it. Then the pain comes, when you feel that person drifting further from you and you know there’s nothing you can do to stop it. Knowing that love was fleeting and that person has taught you so many important life lessons. And that love is always a revolving door; people leave... |

It is funny how so many comments on songs are about relationships, though I guess that is a result of our media and the way they tell us love, should be? Not everything is about a bad break-up. This song is about someone who has clearly hit rock bottom, their loss of faith, in religion or simply just humanity. Someone who has made so many bad decisions and can barely look at them-self in the mirror. Someone who has lost all hope in having a normal life. Being gay I’ve always had a strong connection with this song, being made to feel unimportant and different and making bad decisions along the way in rejection. This song still makes me tear up... |

@[Skoorb:23149] Amanda had many songwriters from Sony/Epic writing on her first album, I believe she only wrote “Sittin’ on Top of the World”. She probably heard the song and wanted to record it. I also thought the same thing, as she’s Canadian. Birmingham is known for it’s Jazz and the song has some great saxophone featured in it |

I was listening to this song the other day. Having heard this song so many times, I never truly paying attention to what he was trying to say, I think I figured it out. It's clearly about the same girl who is the subject of "Boston", based on the lyric, "Sung about you once, now". To me, at this point, they've grown apart. She's moved to Boston and they're in a long distance relationship. They've been visiting eachother but each time they leave eachother it feels like the last time, that it's over. She wanted to leave and he's still very much in LA. |

Such a haunting song; you can hear the desperation and sadness in the lyrics. Someone who has to leave, but fighting so hard not to. Whenever I hear this song, I think of my ex. He loved this song. He would sing to it at night, a memory I'll have with me forever. I guess when it comes down to it, this song describes how I felt. I put in so much effort and love into a relationship that essentially left me with nothing. I didn't want to leave, but I had to. Sometimes I still tear up when it comes on... |

Essentially, this song is about moving on. Embracing one's past as well as the future. Being hopeful rather than sad about missed opportunities. It tells us to appreciate what we have in life and to rise above expectations that society has set for us. And most of all, to love... I would for this song to play at my wedding. <3 |

This song still haunts me. It's so beautifully truthful. The consequences of falling for someone. The good and the bad. The loss and gain. That moment when you realize that out of any past lovers or relationships, you really loved that person. The pain and scars that love can leave on our souls. The way it feels so good when you have it and the loss you feel when it's gone. Taking it for granted like so many people do these days. How happy that person made you and how sad you feel when their love is gone... |
