from this song I personally get the feeling that the guy isn't in love with his girlfriend any more and is just looking for a quick fix of sex; "Only for one night Even though you don't love me Just tell me you love me" from possibly a prostitute (I also get the impression it could be an exotic dancer maybe?) as the lyrics go; "Let me see that ass Look at all this cash And I emptied out my cards to her" It seems even though he's only looking for a one night stand he still wants that feeling of love during the moment. |

This song to me is about despite how quick time has gone, the person still isn't over their past relationship, no matter how much they try or pretend things are fine, they're not. They are still considering and thinking about a second chance. "I'm older than my years" "Traumatised, I'm so scared to feel" this in my opinion means the experience of the relationship made them more mature and because of that, they're scared to get close to someone again. |

To me this song is about having someone who can help escape and be someone else when with them, giving everything you are to be a different person. "you get me closer to god" - I'm an atheist but I see this as being closer to "heaven"/having the best feeling when being in that moment of passion. |
