There is a hidden reality beyond our 3dimensional 5 sense program. One has a feeling, and takes the a "leap of faith" so to speak, in order to understand the underlining principles guiding and shaping one's "life". Once this occures and one takes the correct path, one then becomes fulfilled, enlightened so to speak. Hence "dawn poured into me". This only can occure if one has the foregain wisdom to except the reality of ones true nature,that which those on the path call "disillusionment". "Disillusionment" consists of one's realisation of one's fault and destubances upon one's self and others around one. Thus we can conclude the phrase "salty wounds" etc. is metaphorical for what we can call, for lack of better words, "The ego check". And as for the name of the song. I could not put it any better than The Three Initiates as written in the Kybalion. "And the spirit of persecution has not died out in the land. There are certain teachings,which, if publicly promulgated, would bring down upon the teachers a great cry of scorn and revilement from the multitude, wjo would again raise the cry of "Crucify! Crucify!". Therefore it will remain hidden from those who are ready nor willing to see.
