My first thought in hearing this song was during the chorus when she says "Blue lips, Blue veins." and "Blue, The most human color." I liked this because to me I thought it meant that in both life and death we're blue. Our veins are blue and when we die, our lips are as well. Idk what exactly it means for us to be "blue." I also think there's a lot more to this song in each verse, but that's just what I got from when I first heard it and I though it was an interesting thought. :D |

| One of the best--if not the very best by Lifehouse. This song puts me to tears. I love how it starts out without any music, just his voice | |

| Absolutely gorgeous song!! More people need to have commented!! I love the message of this song, that when life just really sucks you just have to think of the good things about life, even if they're infinitesimal. | |

So I absolutely love the fourth stanza of this song: Oily marks appear on walls Where pleasure moments hung before The takeover, the sweeping insensitivity Of this still life To me it means there's no more "pleasure moments," that the happiness is gone and the oily marks are the stains, the memories, of those happy moments. I feel like it's pretty obvious but the way it's phrased is genius, I think. It makes it so much more powerful. |
