Pixies – Is She Weird Lyrics 12 years ago
My interpretation is that this song is about a man contemplating his chances with, or a man simply fantasizing and obsessing over an unobtainable woman who is derived from a drastically different world than himself. Although her traits initially disgust him on a logical level, he finds himself at the same time very sexually attracted and sucked in by her undeserving wealth, promiscuity, disposable lifestyle and her overall coldness.

Pixies – The Sad Punk Lyrics 12 years ago
This song is pretty straight up. Frank pretty much lays it out there for you. Punk and really most any other "hardcore" or "hip" music trends have evolved into something quite sad and mainstream. The true spirit and sound of punk music as we knew it is truly extinct. All we have now are leftover "byproducts" that have gotten into the hands of rich, sleazy, business tycoons. These tycoons water it down, add fillers, and repackage this so called "punk fossil fuel" and proceed to sell it to the masses. The end result is very "canned", mass produced, disposable music.

Pixies – Rock Music Lyrics 15 years ago
I believe the overall theme to the Pixies song, "Rock Music" is either referring to drug addiction or someone leaving a bad/violent relationship.

"Your mouth's a mile away" is just another way of saying "no matter what you say, I'm not listening to you" This could be a reference to someone trying to lend advice to a drug addict or possibly a girlfriend who is trying to reconcile with her bitter lover, before he leaves permanently. Again, no matter how much this person speaks, it does no good. The drug addict (or the heartbroken lover) has made up his mind. The other person's mouth might as well be "a mile away".

The next verse, "I'm already gone" hammers this song's meaning into the listener's skull, yet again. It simply restates that its too late. The drug addict (or the lover) has made up his mind. "Gone" means that the addict considers himself as good as dead or figures he will be dead soon, due to the life hes living. In the lover's case, "gone" would refer to literally moving away or leaving.

**Correction** I just wanted to make it clear that the actual lyrics to the next verse are "Hey you know me, *Me conoce* ". You can find these and all other official Pixies song lyrics @ www.pixiesmusic.com. In this line the meaning is exactly parallel with how the lyric reads. In other words, the singer is saying "You know how I feel and what I'm all about, so why are you so shocked?"

Pixies – River Euphrates Lyrics 15 years ago
Seeing as the overall theme from Surfer Rosa seems to be a very sexual one, its hard to believe that "River Euphrates" is not also eluding to a sexual reference.

First and foremost, the actual lyric to this song is "ride the tiger" not "tire" or "tyre".
(This lyric correction comes directly from the Pixies' official site, pixiesmusic.com. See for yourself)

Although there are many geographical references, they aren't meant to be taken in a literal sense. They are rather metaphors and play-on-words. The term "ride the tiger" is slang for having intercourse with an Asian person.

"Stuck here out of gas" refers to ejaculating too quickly, ending his sexual experience before it hardly even begins.

"The gaza strip" is then most likely a refernce to his Asian lover's pubic hair.

From this point on, it is pretty apparent that the "dead sea" and choking on "the salty wine" lyric is a reference to his semen.
