An immensely beautiful song. Kyle Morton, the lead singer, was bitten by a bug and got Lyme disease and almost died of organ failure, so the meaning makes much more sense in that respect. But still, there are a lot more layers to it, especially considering love, family, sacrifice. |

This is definitely representative of many young girl's dream to meet a man and settle down and have children. I love the bridge about stars... Don't you remember being a child and wishing on a shooting star (or anything else) for someone to love? I think it's certainly a comment on the fact that so many of us want this settled life but that there could be so much more than that awaiting us. |

Isn't is weird to think of being someone else's daydream? I wonder if people know they are my daydream, that I think about them in spare moments and feel everything from hope to sadness because of it. All of the scenarios I have played out in my head when I am away from someone are such an indication of missing them, but I would never have the guts to tell anyone about it (like, "hey, you are my daydream and i miss you)... Luckily, I have Tegan and Sara to do it for me. |

This song so perfectly captures the feelings that so many of us get, the "I know I should love you, but I don't." We can be pretty fucked up emotionally and prevent ourselves from letting love in and loving others. This song is exactly that, "I'm sorry to whichever man should meet my lonesome state." Sometimes I want to play this song before I get involved with them so they understand where I am in life (weird? probably.) |

I fall in love with this song every time I hear it. I think what I get from this song is that the narrator is always almost in love, almost always giving of herself, almost always fully involved in something. It's like she is in that weird place right before being in love but after the initial feelings. But I think this song is much more than that, I just can't really put it into words I guess. |

I can't help but be flooded with emotion when I listen to this song. I don't even know what it's about! Just something about the rhythm of her words and the way they flow together... I don't know.
I guess what I take from it is certainly the idea of eternity and having someone to spend it with. Will you wait for me after death? I will try to make you happy in life or after life, always loving you. A beautiful idea. |

| Ultra Orange & Emmanuelle – Don't Kiss Me Goodbye Lyrics

I think she's saying that if you are going to leave me or say goodbye, don't try to make it any better than it is. It's hard enough o lose someone, but it's even worse when they leave while trying to make everything okay. When someone says goodbye to me, it is too painful to have them kiss me while they do it. |

| Joanna Newsom – In California Lyrics

Some parts of this song confuse me (I don't think any JN song doesn't confuse me... i love it), but I feel like, at times, it is a testament to how geography can play a part in the way you love someone. California is her home and her heart, and her lover (living somewhere that isn't CA) doesn't translate to that part of her life. "When you come and see me in California, you cross the border of my heart." It's almost like there's the California side of her and the other side, and they don't really go together due to timing. I think we all have different sides to us, especially when it comes to being at home versus being out in the world by yourself. I don't know, though, there are probably a million possible meanings to this song... But this is just what I took from it! |

this song is beautiful, and relatable. lyrics are pretty self explanatory, he is in a relationship with someone who is incredibly sad and insecure, and he just loves her/ wants to see her get through it. |
