imunseen: it's hard not to take it too the limit when stupid people try to push dumb meanings because they are against something. i know people are entitled to their opinion, however, if i believe that thrice is NOT religious (this is just an example) i would say it once, but i would not intentionally go to several songs and post it on every one. people are just stupid about it sometimes.
and by the way, most of thrice's songs are religiously based, but i'm not going to go to every song and state this. |

you guys are PATHETIC, that's all i have to say. people try so hard to imagine songs and explain how they have nothing to do with God. if that makes you happy to think they are not about God then by all means go ahead. jesus christ....OH WAIT, NOW I'M AGNOSTIC AND I DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD, WHAT AM I GOING TO DO. fuck man, all of you wake up....God exists, God is real, and people DO write about God. AND IT'S OKAY TO DO SO!!!! thanks |

i don't believe this song is about God because of the word faith. that being said, here's my interpretation. This song is about God. "private wars on my soul waged" this is between good and evil. "walk into the flame...to further bless your name" this means (in my view) that in today's society it is hard to be a believer, especially today. so walking into the flame sorta reminds me of publically be proud of believing and sharing that with people and how hard it is, but Dustin is willing to do so, which makes him closer to God. This song has to be about a struggle in life, between good and evil and ultimately in the end, putting all else aside we die to God. Ending the identity crisis is when one makes the decision to follow God and not evil, but this is a life long struggle. sorry if this is unclear to some, but i'm too tired to reread, i hope i made myself clear. |

hey Kneecromancer you move on to another thrice song and be wrong about that one too. i'm glad you talked with dustin and found out they are not a christian band..i am glad for you. i'm glad you are satisfied with that too. does it please you to know that? would you not like them if they were? would you still take the time to read the lyrics? would you still buy the cd? am i being annoying? fuck, just like i told someone else in another song... WHO CARES IF THEY ARE CHRISTIAN OR NOT. his lyrics are obviously christian like and if the band claims to be not christian, that is obviously an oversight on their part. now grow up and stop looking for every piece of evidence that leads thrice into not being a christian band...cuz his lyrics are christian, whether YOU LIKE IT OR NOT |

Duffman: so much for this song not being viewed!!
walking catastrophe: first off, chris doesn't always make his songs so obvious, and second, this could be about a christian losing faith. only chris knows, and for all you that have such a problem with songs being related to christian life, GROWUP. so many people try to find other meanings for songs especially with thrice (and those who know thrice) it's okay for someone to write about God or being a christian |

you can be religious and disagree with religions...thrice sounds very religious but doesn't really follow one particular belief or religion. they believe in what they want to believe in...which is the right path to follow. that's like what i do, in a sense, take a little bit in from different religions and believe in what i want to believe. and thrice.net, when you refer to adonai, you are referring to something religious, regardless of what you believe |

this song is about the angel micheal. i could be totally wrong, but the Angel Micheal is a warrior, and hence the "melodic battle cry" and blue represents micheals' colour. also, to unabashedly pursue is to pursue and not to be ashamed. pursue openly. to me, this song cleary represents what thrice stands for and they definately believe in God, and get all their strength from God. Because "we'll raise our voices to the sky". |
