Enough love for the family Just nothing left for me, you see It's just like Cinderella Locked up and hid away You have no idea What you've created Wanted to take a look And see through a hole without a key See what I've been missing Goddamn you for what I'm missing!-- This part is a continuation of the child being cast aside. He watches the family that he cant be a part of but seeing them makes him realize what he doesnt have. This makes him bitter. |

You just leave me alone Tell me, please tell me it ain't so I can't believe this, so I walk the road. You just left me alone. Tell me, please tell me it ain't so I do believe it, so I walk alone. This part is about how he didn't believe it was wrong, what was happening to him so he put up with it. And now later in life, the effects of it have caused him to feel alone and separated from everyone, perhaps because he cant trust anyone now. ------------------------------ Had my back, then you turned around Loved by default, but were never proud Run away, but I'm not allowed So I suffer through it. This part is about how parents can act like a family in public but behind closed doors it's a different story. And how his parents "loved" him because he was thier kid, but nothing he did was good enough, and he cant get away from it. ------------------------------ |

I think this songs about someone's messed up childhood. It's actually really reminiscent of "A Child Called It". Hold me back and hold me down Hold me close, then push me around Beat me up, beat me down to the ground I'm sure I deserve it. This part is about the child getting physically abused, and his trying to justify it with a child's mentality. ------------------------------ Left my world, left me alone Locked inside, it becomes my home Inside a hole, buried like a bone I'm sure you had your reasons. This part is about him being cast aside in the family, and how a child becomes introverted when suffering physical and mental abuse. Or about literally being locked away like in a basement. And again justifying or it could be retrospective sarcasm. ------------------------------ Out of your sight Are you out of your mind? In my absence, your heart Never grew fonder. This part is about that even though he was never around they didn't miss him. |
