The boy singing the song shot his sister on accident. She died. The shot was meant for someone else in the house (an abusive father perhaps). Here: "sister's gone, a crown of red you said i missed, a mistake. in the dark, i thought her you, and shot." The girl has come back to haunt the boy (or so he thinks) but the girl is there to finish the job against the abusive force in the house. "You cannot hide yourself" is a message to the boy to let him know, that the sister is protecting him and that there is a job to do, that he cannot hide from. I also think the others in the home may think he "hears voices" but they are real. And of course February is the anniversary of the event. |

"The Arizona is as good as The California." These items are proper nouns, named after States. Maybe there is a boat or something with those names. If you're leaving in a hurry, what difference does it make which one you take. "Out from a mission there." |
