I agree with you: wars are not good; people killing people is not good. But it's not an option to just not fight another war again. "I just wonder what would happen if people just refused to fight each other flat out. We'd probably live in a much better world" You're completely right, we would - and there's no "probably" about it. But people wont just refuse to fight. They wont put their guns down. They're fighting for a cause that they believe in. The 21 Gun Salute is to respect those who've died to protect their country, and I personally despise the person who could possibly put down the ones who protect him. You sir, while you "sit comfortably in your home" typing selfish, retarded comments, should think of what people are giving up for your safety. |

I see the love story, but I also see a Christian message in it. (don't go off on me for tying in religon, im just saying whats a possible meaning). What if this song's about a person talking to an angel - a messenger of God, saying that he loves the angel (and by angel, I mean God), but he's done too many things in his past to reconcile what he's done. He thinks he's hopeless, and he's damned, and he cant change, but god (through the angel) says "I don't hate you, I just want to save you, before there's nothing left to save". The man doesn't believe the angel, and tells her to stop trying to change him ("im not the answer to the questions that you still have"). Also, throughout the song, he makes several references to how unstoppable time is - how it keeps coming ("there is no time like the present to drink these draining seconds" "As the day pressed on like crushing weights, for no man does it ever wait..."). This makes me think about him not having enough time to change himself for the better. Just something for you guys to think about, tell me what you think. =D Freakin' love the song, btw. |

I think you're right about the dual meaning type of thing - I see the love story, but I also see a Christian message in it.
