In my opinion it is about a man who could be happy in love but just fails every time he gets it. "you'll never be what is in your heart" - love. This line is what convinced me of my previous suggestion; "wasted on fixing all the problems that you made in your own head". I don't think I really need to explain anymore than that since the song is pretty straight forward in my opinion. I'd like to think that the chorus is what the man SHOULD be saying, instead of leaving his relationship for dead. "Little Lion Man" is such a good description. Did anyone else use to watch the lion king? aha. That's my interpretation anyway.. it fits my needs. Good song. |

I thought this was worth putting here, it's taken from wikipedia.org "In a video interview with NME, lead singer Yannis Philippakis stated that the track was "the most straightforward song on the album. It's trying to deal with somebody being two-faced or, even to the extreme, someone having a split personality. The reason for why it's called Cassius - Cassius Clay who became Mohammad Ali, it's almost like there's two people in one and Cassius, the conspirator who instigated the assassination of Julius Caesar, who is a very literal symbol of being two faced".[2]" once you take that into consideration the song is really pretty simple to decode. it's still well written though. very catchy phrasing and bright. the guitar melodies really compliment the singing. cheers. |
