| Queen Adreena – A Bed of Roses Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| it has an air of panic in it; maybe she's trippin out and wants whomever to leave her alone, but then again, she doesn't want to BE alone. maybe it's love that's doing this to her and the thought of commitment that is making her say, "GO AWAY". but then she goes and says "answer the fuckin phone" so she doesn't REALLY want them gone. | |
| Queen Adreena – Pretty Like Drugs Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| i feel that the song is trying to convey (as others have said) the allure of fame and substance abuse and how the world loves to watch people screw up their lives. in this song, the world is her audience and she's center stage with her raw, wild emotion, living life in reckless abandon. she likens herself to drugs because drugs are "pretty", alluring, and unpredictable. people are typically drawn to others with a savage, naked lust for life, sex, and drugs, because they love to watch them fall. people think it's intriguing -- amusing; they want to live their lives on the edge and escape from their white-collar cubicles and ideals. they might even find this dare-devil way of life slightly arousing. we all have an animal inside us -- some suppress their inner longings and move on, while others fall victim to their darker desires; i think this song reflects that same intrigue and the obscured appetite for self-sabotage and destruction. | |

| Tom McRae – A Day Like Today Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
"Welcome back" says the voice on the radio But I never left, I was always right here In your hand all the colours you thought were kings At the turn of a card can just disappear to me, "colours" means "other people you've dated" and she thought they were wonderful, but "at the turn of a card", they disappeared and weren't as wonderful as she had previously thought. the chorus simply says how no matter what, he's always gonna be there for her, to comfort her, and if she would LET him love her forever. Need to see, need to say, need to be something beautiful I can't get today out of my mind Need to say, need to call, need to love someone beautiful A day like today has stained my eyes he's saying that he feels the need to say and be something worthwhile for the person that he loves, because to him, they're worth it. the third and fourth line mean to me that he sees them as beautiful and perfect and how the day spent with them couldn't get anymore perfect, because they spent it together. And all I ever say and all I ever do Is just a message to you And all I ever play are the cards you gave me It's just my version of the truth the first two lines of this stanza are pretty self-explanatory -- everything he does and says is a reflection of how wonderful the person he loves is. in the third and fourth, i think he's trying to say that "all i ever say about you is what i think is amazing and true to your divine beauty and character" (maybe i'm reading a little too much into this one) |

| Kittie – Charlotte Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| i think this song is about the betrayal of a lover or friend. she's says in the beginning, basicly "so you think i'm nothing cuz you took something from me and got away with it, but i won't let you". now she's "something" because she's gotten her revenge on whomever burned her. when she says, I'm Cold, So Cold, Ohh, Ohh, If i Find, NO! NO WAY!" i believe she's trying to repress her remorse for her revenge, hoping that someday it doesn't surface and come out in dangerous ways. | |

| Kittie – Spit Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
"i think i'll take this hate and SPIT SPIT SPIT," i believe she's referring to how she's going to take all her hate and turn it into something positive and show them up, spitting on everyone who ever told her she 'couldn't do it' or she 'wasn't good enough'. "Now as it's passed onto the next one I feel a bloodrush come right over me" i think she's saying that she's passed her knowledge on through her songs to other people out there and now feels a rush knowing that she's gotten through to them with her music. "Why do i get shit all the time from you men You are swine You think dick is the answer But its not," she's saying that she's sick of guys saying she's not good enough because she's a girl, but she knows that she's just as good as them...which she is :) GO MORGAN! |

| Kittie – Raven Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
this song for me is, in a sense, ironic -- i had an ex named brandon (the name "brandon" means "little raven" and the song is called "raven". i heard this song right after i found out that he was cheating on me with another girl and to me, that's what this song is about, mainly because i'm projecting my own experiences into the song. when it says, "He Wanted More. Wanted a Silenced Whore," it means to me that all he wanted out of the relationship was sex and now the singer is done with his bullshit. so to me, this song is about control, cheating, and resolve to get away from the toxic relationship, but that's just my opinion. |

| Anya Marina – Satellite Heart Lyrics | 15 years ago |

i feel like the first 2 verses of the song are people questioning her and when they say, "So pretty, so smart Such a waste of a young heart," i think they're saying that she's out of this person's league and she's lowering herself, but she doesn't care. So pretty, so smart Such a waste of a young heart What a pity, what a sham What's the matter with you, man? Don't you see it's wrong? Can't you get it right? Out of mind and outta sight Call on all your girls, don't forget the boys Put a lid on all that noise the chorus i think is just her saying how she's become attached to this person as if in a gravitational pull like a satellite (much like dduron1247 had suggested). she's drawn to this person and can't help it. lovely lovely song! |

| Gregory and the Hawk – Boats and Birds Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| wow, icemanof92! i'm very impressed with your insight. at first i was convinced that this song was simply about a girl who cared for someone so much that she was willing to sacrifice everything about herself to let whomever she cared for "shine". your post; however, has made me doubt my own interpretation of the song and see it in a whole new way. i think it could go either way; whether meant to be sung to a lover or to a child, i believe this song speaks to everybody which is what makes it so unique and wonderful! | |
