| This looks like one of those "commonly misheard lyrics" things but it's exactly what they're saying! | |
| KMFDM – Stray Bullet Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
It's a shame that this song has been involved in so many shootings. If you really have any idea what KMFDM is about, you'd know how strongly anti-war and anti-violence they are. Besides, this song isn't specifically about guns anyway. The bullet is a metaphor. I think it's about religion - specifically, the people who see it as an excuse to kill people who don't agree with them. The quote, "Even if God really existed, it would be necessary to abolish him," isn't saying that God is inherently bad, it's that too many religious people are nutcases. And I'm even saying this as a Christian. |

You realize that when you type "13" the "teen" is already implied? "13teen" is pronounced "thirteen teen." Sorry if "pronounced" was too big a word for you. |

| Clutch – Green Buckets Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I can't tell if it really is a love song, or if it's more of a commentary on the rituals of suburban life (focusing on taking the trash and recycling out). They also talk about watching all the prime time TV, keeping hoards of canned goods, etc. in a way that sounds kind of mocking. Anyone figure out the part with "And there's a man who's been knockin' on his door/for three years, or has it been four?" |

| Fightstar – Paint Your Target Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I think it's about Shinji's difficulty with relationships in general. He's never sure if he can really be close to anyone, if the relationship is going to work. Fighting the Angels is all that he's able to do to feel accepted, so "go ahead and paint your target." | |
| Helloween – Eagle Fly Free Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Mostly I see this song as being about individuality, standing out from the crowd and supporting what's right. I especially like this part: Hey, we think so supersonic and we make our bombs atomic or the better quite neutronic but the poor don't see a dime We spend millions developing nuclear weapons that will probably (hopefully) never be used. In a better world, that money would be going towards helping the poor or finding cures for diseases. |

| The Black Eyed Peas – I Gotta Feeling Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I consider this just a "feel-good" song. With spring break coming up next week, I'm probably going to be listening to this a lot. Sums up my feelings. | |
