Carina Round – For Everything A Reason Lyrics 14 years ago
I think this song is very clearly about death, evidenced by the following lines: "For every ending a new beginning", "And those who loved before will be brought back together", "I saw the light go out", "And so they say baby you will be born back to me".

I really believe this song is about the death of a child. She's obviously searching for a reason, and people often search for reasons when a person dies too young. I don't think it was her own child, but I think a child very close to her (neice, nephew) died far too young.

deadmau5 – Raise Your Weapon (feat. Greta Svabo Bech) Lyrics 15 years ago
I definitely think "weapon" is words. This song is about someone whose anger is destroying a relationship. The singer wanted the relationship to work, but she's broken now and she's ready to give up with just one more angry word. At this point, she's actually encouraging him to bring it on, and reflecting on what he has destroyed.

R.E.M. – Country Feedback Lyrics 15 years ago
This song is littered with methaphors that could mean anything. This song has meant so many things to me at so many times. Songs like this last forever, and this is easily my favorite song, ever.

In the grand scale of things, I think the meaning is fairly obvious, and can be summed up quite well in the last two lines:

"It's crazy what you could've had" = I have so much left still to offer
"I need this" = I am a little bit desperate and lost

Two people have fallen out of love (gay or otherwise, anyone can relate to this song). The flower is scorched and the film is on a maddening loop. "Clothes" is a really vague metaphor suggesting that "this" doesn't fit any more. Whoever is to blame, it's all the same... it's all the same.

I don't know what the bone in hand is, but there are a few good thoughts here. To me, the curled hair and positions are attempts at rekindling love. Curled hair reminds me of prettying oneself up, and I always think of sexual posisitons (which I think is what he intended). But then that person comes to him with excuses, all neat and tidy and far too perfect - and he's worn out with it.

They've been through all these things trying to make it work - and nothing, "fuck all". He had control at some point but he lost it and doesn't know when, but he's starting to become a little desperate. He's come to depend on this disfunctional relationship, and he doesn't know how to let go.

The methaphors get even more vague from here, but it geels kind of like a garage sales of lover's memories. He's longing for for that person, or at least what they represent.

And finally he just wails on about how it's coming to and end, but the other person doesn't realize what it means to him. There's so much love he had to offer...

I very somber song for those times in your life when you feel like everything failling apart and/or nobody seems to appreciate you. Or when you're so desperate for something that can not be.

Neverending White Lights – Distance Lyrics 15 years ago
I don't think this is about physical distance either. Nothing to really back it up - the lyrics could go either way. Something about the mood of the song suggested to me that he's talking about an emotional distance that's developed over time.

Neverending White Lights – Where We Are Lyrics 15 years ago
It sounds like he is returning to a love he once seperated from. It's been some time and he is tired and returning to her. He hopes that they can find love once again.

Neverending White Lights – I Hope Your Heart Runs Empty Lyrics 15 years ago
This song is one of my favorite songs ever.

For me this song rings especially true because I've been there. I really think he has found a love that he has poured himself into, and she can not feel the same. Yet he continues to hold on, even while letting go. He understand they can't be together, but he holds on to those beautiful moments. He prays that one day she will wake up and realize how empty she is without him.

I think there's another side to the song too. I think there's a little bit of spite in it. The sadness in the song makes me wonder if he'd take her back if she came back. His heart has run empty too, and he may want her to feel the same.

In truth, I think he's torn between love and loss, he's emptied himself, and he wants validation of the love he feels for her.

Truly a sad, sad song, but it has gotten me through some of the toughest times in my life.
