My ex sent me the lyrics to this song to and a note saying how he finally understood the song and what he did to me. He was very dependent on me to take care of everything in our relationship - I was not only his girlfriend but his cheerleader for him in life. It was exhausting to have to have enough drive for my own life AND his life. I think this song is a perfect representation of that. The key word to it not being about a real baby is omniscient - meaning all knowing. So, he acted like he knew it all in the relationship but didn't realize until after that he was such a childish loser who couldn't ferret out his life or take care of himself. Very much a song about co-dependency in a relationship. Maybe the song title does mean someone who is like a zombie, no emotion but all human nature drive of "feed me, take care of me, but I won't love you because I'm incapable and that would take effort". Ah, ain't love grand. |
