I think (as opinion should be valid) that this song could be talking about amnesia, or possibly an accident thus causing the inability: "I receive all i ever dream for, in return all is taken away", honestly, you could just quote this entire song and it would make perfect sense but, alas; an opinion again has only so much water it can hold. (an elaborate exclusive) Johnny never thought to this day that he would nigh shed light upon his own demons to rid them, but rather shred it and paradoxically better understand that which engulfed his life with cacophony. He bore his family on his shoulders, their weight becomes sparse like the generations that will fall from the future like they did before him only shrugging them aside and wrenching his hands with their blood...
