This is a consolation song about a person that has lost spring curls. This person is obviously stricken with grief because the oppressor/singer has forbidden the growth of new spring curls, especially during the winter seasons. Here, the oppressor is attempting to offer solace, but it is overtly done in a mocking tone. Thus, the victim continues to cry...every night. |

This song is clearly about the revelation of the spring curls. In the beginning, the spring curls were kept hidden for obvious reasons. But after a certain level of trust was established, it was inevitable that its true nature would be revealed. It was met with a sense of confusion and betrayal, but by then, things were already too far gone. Either the spring curls will strengthen their union, or it will be the cause of their demise. It’s their way to fall. |
