Love love love this song, and not just as a choir freak, either, though I wish my choir could sing this song. But alas, we aren't good enough to take on something this complex. Just the sycopation of the "Listen"s would take us weeks to perfect. But I really wish we could sing this. It's so beautiful. |

This is my favorite instrumental ever, by far. I love the piano and the rain. It's just so haunting and sad and deep. I can't imagine anyone short of a genius could compose anything like this. |

I figured that he was talking about severe, uncontrollable feelings of lust. In the song, it seems that the speaker is so desperate that he stalks a subject and commences to describe some sort of rape. "The virus of life" could be synonomous with sex or lust. |

I think DreamersDisease is absolutely right, except for one part... I'm not sure that the lyric is "That you were designed for my punishments" so much as it is "That you were designed for my punishment", which would give the impression that he means that though he does want to stay with whoever this is and love them, it pains him to do so. |
