It seems like the song lyrics are comparing a modern romance with a well known love story of the past especially with the reference of Samson eating 'wonder bread' as well as the following lyrics: Oh, we couldn't bring the columns down Yeah, we couldn't destroy a single one And history books forgot about us And the Bible didn't mention us, not even once My impression is that the love this modern couple has is as strong and powerful a story as that of Samson and Delilah. I love the comparison! So beautiful! <3 |

| This song brought me to tears because it's sooo true. Many of us pretend to be happy when we're angry, confused, vulnerable, frustrated, broken by anything and everything in life. | |

There's something so sad about these lyrics in particular: "I am the railroad track abandoned With the sunset forgetting I ever happened That I ever happened" The lyrics make me think that it's about coming to terms with being abandoned as a child and being accepted by whomever - lover, friend, perhaps even the parent who abandoned them - for who they truly are. |

| I love this song so much. The simplicity of: "When you gonna love you as much as I do" is just sooo powerful. I imagine this is how a parent feels towards their kids from puberty onward when we don't always know what we want to do with our lives and feel insecure about our futures in life and love. It's a parent telling their child that they need to be strong and find their path in life because one day they won't be there to support them. If anything it's the words of wisdom and advice that a parent gives their children, that lives on long after they're gone. This song is sooo sentimental. <3 | |

I feel like this song is about a woman who longs to be loved by a man but this man is just so preoccupied with saving the world that he can't be the man she needs him to be. I interpret this line as it relates to falling in love which is where I get the sense of this woman's longing for love. All are there forever falling Falling lovely and amazing This part makes me feel that the man just isn't able to give her the attention she needs: God has given you but one heart You are not a home for the hearts of your brothers By the end of it, it seems like this woman is sad to have to admit that she can no longer be in a relationship with this man anymore. They don't see eye to eye anymore and it's clear that they should no longer be together. |

| Jeff Buckley – Lover, You Should've Come Over (Live At Sin-e Version) Lyrics | 13 years ago |

Sometimes the end of a relationship can be as devastating as the death of a loved one. The rain to me signifies the emotional sadness one feels.. the tears one cries over the devastation of loss. This version, this song, it's just so heart-breakingly beautiful. It's soulful, honest, heartfelt, passionate, sad, and hopeful. |

| Jeff Buckley – Lover, You Should've Come Over Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| This song is about lost love and how someone loved someone so much but messed it up. This may seem weird but since Jeff was a Scorpio, maybe his sexual urges got the best of him and he cheated on someone he was truly and deeply in love with? I just sense that he really hurt someone when he sings "She's a tear that hangs in my soul forever" It sounds like it was about someone really important in his life and how he longs to still be with them and never stops believing that it's possible to get back together by saying "It's never over" | |

I feel like this song is about a young adult longing for their parent(s) to have patience and sympathy in their pursue of a dream or be successful: "When I can, I will" "Cursed you and your reasons" It's really hard trying to figure out your life and pursue your dreams if you're stuck with a family that isn't supportive and just makes you feel really shitty about your dreams and goals in life. I feel like this song is about breaking free from our dysfunctional families that hold us back: "No longer will I follow Can anybody hear me I just want to be me" |

I looooove this song! It's like the listener and a love story are all tangled up into one. I get this totally hopeless romantic feel out of this song. It's like someone is reminiscing about a past relationship that may not have worked out and by writing about it, they know they can find other wounded souls who will understand what they're going through and be able to heal from their beautifully handwritten songs. It's the inspiration we get from beautifully crafted lyrics. <3 To me, the devastatingly sad love story comes from these lines: And to ease the loss of youth And how many years I've missed you Pages plead forgiveness Every word handwritten As the listener, this is totally how I feel about the songwriter: I'm in love with the way you're in love with the night And it travels from heart to limb to pen The songwriter wants to help us, the listeners, heal through our tragic love stories by sharing and writing out his own: And with this pen, I thee wed From my heart to your distress Every word handwritten SOOOOOO GOOOOD! <3 |

This song makes me think of a near death experience especially with the reference to the "headlights on the hillside" and the "don't take me this way" part. To me it's about wanting to live regardless of your circumstances "i don't need your tears, i don't need your love, i just wanna get home"(fucked up relationships, fucked up lives, etc.) but accepting death and letting people know that nothing they do will change the outcome since death is bigger than anyone. the video is kinda fucked up but i still love it. E.T. meets Willy Wonka! :) |
