Bazaan has been pretty straightforward in interviews (see his talk on Pete Holmes 'You Made It Weird' podcast, among others) that when he writing the album, his intention was very clear to 'debunk', if you will, or cast away his faith ("Let go of what you know"). Furthermore, the circle of Christianity he grew up in (Assembly of God, ie. Fundamentalists) would not accept a stance of Faith where you "don't know" many things. A mature faith, I agree, would include this humility of certain uncertainties... but again Bazaan has been pretty clear he doesn't believe in Christianity anymore. |
