This song is about someone who has been hurt by a former friend/girlfriend/family member and how they looked at them all wrong their entire lives... In the morning, they wake them and finally come out of this hidden shell and become friends with them again to 'pull you under.' They were knowing him all wrong. Patronizing him in a way to the point where he's now becoming the bigger man and finally showing them that he isn't (for lack of a better example) white trash and that he is a classy man and will stand up for what he believe in 'n stuff. The funeral...is the funeral of their argument. It needs to be laid to rest and they all need to start over. My opinion. Say what you want. Just sharin'. Catcha on the flip-flop nucka! |

"I'll never be the same if we ever meet again." It's not necessarily a love song or a "meet up and fall" song. The video could also have a lot to do about a secret. How the guy steals the painting or how the guy steals the necklace. If he sees her again, they're not the same person to the victim and they're not the same person to them-self because of what they've done. If that makes any sense. I tend to talk in circles. The song is about a man who marries a woman and talks about how their fire burns so slowly at the beginning but then it burns strong. They're making promises to each other, vows, and creating the strong bonds of marriage that SHOULD last forever. However, the woman breaks the bonds of marriage and then their fire doesn't burn strong anymore. Think of the lyric, "It's the laugh of the last dying ember." and also, "A promise SHOULD last forever." "Do you want to walk alone? How long can we carry on?" are other lyrics. My guess is drugs or something and he didn't want to put up with it anymore. So, he had to be the bigger man and leave her to whatever it is she may be doing. Their love is no longer strong. "Sometimes you just have to walk away..." That is what this song means to me. You may not agree but I've thought long and hard about it and this is what I've gathered from the lyrics and tone of song. The genre and speed gives a lot away. |
