| Disco Curtis – Breaking Hearts Lyrics | 16 years ago |

"Breaking Hearts was inspired by a girl I dated in high school who had been in a previous relationship with a guy who got what we wanted sexually out of her and then left. I have seen this act multiple times and it breaks my heart. It's not a game, it's a real person with real feelings. I felt so sick by the whole situation that I felt the need to write about it. I say "I was hoping that we were meant to be" because I wanted to be a light in her dark world. In the second chorus, when I say "I was hoping that HE wasn't gonna say this," I'm referring to the guy who got what he wanted out of her. The idea is that I wish HE hadn't said whatever he said to convince her that he was a catch. "I can't afford to let my feelings go" because I can't ignore this situation; this may be my only chance to prove myself to this girl who I cared so much about at the time. But with so many selfish/deviant guys, it's hard to tell when you can and can't trust one. I wanted this song to perhaps be a warning to vulnerable people who will encounter these situations.. Or if someone can relate to this song from past experience, (which I hope more than anything that they can't relate) they have a song that tells their story- and they are not alone." -from Tanner Howe's formspring. :) |

| Disco Curtis – Alone And Loving It Lyrics | 16 years ago |

"Alone and Loving describes my attitude/mind set after "Ashley" and other past girls became nothing more than past regrets. The idea is that I'd rather be alone than to put myself through that kind of hell again.. And even if I were to find someone that seemed ideal, would it be the same situation all over again? Regardless of my feelings, I "don't dare open my mouth" out of fear from past relationships. Being alone is better than being in a dysfunctional relationship. But I can't be "alone" for forever." -From Tanner Howe's formspring. :] |

| Disco Curtis – Surprise Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |

"That song was inspired by a relationship in which I was a complete slave to this girl.. The chorus is about being whipped. I was with this girl, so I felt obligated to write a song about her. The verses praise her, while the chorus describes how miserable I felt in having my emotions completely controlled by her." -From Tanner Howe himself on his formspring. :] |
