Yea I think it's "get a hit." Makes more sense. He's rolling joints in the beginning of the song. He's talking about how good he'll be when he smokes 'em in the chorus. And that's his pursuit of happiness. |

I, too, believe that he says "get a hit." Your reasoning for why it's "once i get it" could be used for "get a hit" as well. We know that the song is about pursuit of happiness yadda, yadda, yadda. Perhaps drinking/smoking is part of that pursuit? Read it again: I'll be fine once I get a hit. Most people smoke for this reason. To relieve or fill that whole so they can feel fine or maybe a little TOO fine (read: high). |
