| I wonder if this is somehow linked with Weird Fishes, with the references to the ocean and "eyes" (in the deepest ocean... the bottom of the sea... your eyes... they turn me). Great song, regardless! | |

dlelben: Hard work isn't proportional to success in this country. It's just bullshit saying that people "force themselves" into low wage jobs. If somebody grows up in the ghetto, they will have a terrible education and no opportunity in life. Even if they are diligent students and complete high-school with good grades, chances are they still won't be able to get into college. The only options for somebody like that are to work minimum wage and struggle to get by for the rest of their life, or become a criminal. Now I'm sure you can get a list of celebrities who had bad childhoods but turned their life around and are now multi-millionaires, but here's the truth; it doesn't matter if one person out of a thousand happens to be in the right place at the right time with the right talents, because the fact is, the other 999 are still screwed. I'm not saying that somebody shouldn't have to work hard to make a living, but rather, I believe the opposite: the harder one works, the MORE money they should make. A CEO who sits in at a desk all day makes millions and millions a year, whereas a blue-collar worker who does hard manual labor makes but a miniscule fraction of that. Do some people think this is a perfect system, and fulfills the intentions of the creators of our nation? Sure. But it's just ridiculous to say that this isn't the case at all. P.S It's, "too stupid", not "to stupid." When you are challenging somebody else's intelligence, make sure you at least spell your insults right. |

| I interpret as the opposite. It seems to me that the government is in COMPLETE control of everybody... that is a major theme in the album, totalitarianism. I agree with nthooze that it reminds me of one of Hitler's speeches if you have heard those. | |
| Lady GaGa – Just Dance Lyrics | 15 years ago |

“I’ve had a little bit too much All of the people start to rush Start to rush by A dizzy twister dance Can’t find my drink or man. Where are my keys, I lost my phone” The protagonist in “Just Dance” is a poignant metaphor for a displaced Baggara nomad, continuously jostled and on the move to find water for his livestock. Her eloquence here neatly captures the oxymoronic claustrophibia (and looming violence) felt by the nomads who are essentially trapped in wide open arid spaces. Lady Gaga, understanding the complex nature of the social topics she addresses, rarely lays out a full plan of action. Instead, she prefers to initially suggest a broad approach to a solution. To wit: “Wish I could shut my playboy mouth. How’d I turn my shirt inside out? Inside out, right Control your poison babe Roses have thorns they say And we’re all gettin’ hosed tonight” Here, she almost literally suggests that the Sudanese military, the Janjaweed and the rebel fighters take a moment to silently reflect on the situation from their enemies perspective, with strong consideration given to the significant collateral damage to be suffered by all sides. Ultimately, Gaga uses thinly veiled sarcasm to suggest that, barring compromise from the warring parties, a continued lack of strong intervention by the UN will result in perpetual revolution of the carousel of war. “Just dance. Gonna be okay Da-doo-doo-doo Just dance. Spin that record babe Da-doo-doo-doo Just dance. Gonna be okay Duh-duh-duh-duh Dance. Dance. Dance. Just dance.” (note... this isnt mine :p) |

Are people really trying to find deeper meaning in this song? It obviously is about a dentist. There is nothing deeper to the song than face value. Attempting to extract a message from lyrics such as this will be as fruitful as attempting to squeeze blood from a rock. And it makes you look silly. See this link - http://wastedpotentialz.com/2009/05/the-haunting-poetry-of-lady-gaga/ for a comical example of this. Hehe. |
