yeah Wyontt... boy, are you off the mark. Try singing that verse with the music, it doesn't fit. Comedy value aside, it describes with fair accuracy an Irish wake. There would be drinking, games and the body laid out in the middle of it all. People would play cards with the dead, actually dealing him into the card game because that's what friends are for. The body is not left alone but has someone there around the clock. The wake was the final party for the dead. And before you think that I've been snookered by the song, guess again.
