negative space doesn't have lyrics, its exactly as the title explains. its simply an instrumental. it begins with just guitar and charms, and slowly gets louder as more instruments are added. the only difference between negative space at the end and the beginning of priest and the matador are that they add drums for priest. :) |

this whole cd is about loosing your life, and faith, and eventually killing yourself. when we have 'negative space' after this song, that is him falling from the top of the building. then priest and the matador is about him finally dying. i love this whole album, and even though the entire thing is about suicide, i listened to it in order to prevent myself from giving in to attempt suicide. love this band, they've gotten me through a lot, and i love that there are enough fans to care about the lyrics. :) |

instead of 'invent dreams' its 'i'm betting dreams' like, he's putting his dreams out to test them, but they probably won't survive... its 'because flying isn't just for kings' like, the rich arent' the only ones who can try out their dreams. and instead of 'when i reach one my sentiment will end' its 'when i reach one my family name will end' because he is killing himself, and being the only son, his family name won't go on. and instead of 'in a bed over the steps where love was made' it is 'in a bed of hopelessness, where i was made, please mark my grave unknown' other than that, good job. sorry, don't mean to be rude, but i own the cd and those are the actual lyrics from the cover. :) good song though. |

honestly if you guys would pay attention, you'd realize that there are a few people on here who have a direct quote from the interview that Nixon did.... he literally tells us what the song is about. it's cool and all that you guys have your own depictions and own definitions of the lyrics, but you should really pay attention to what Nixon has said... overall a really great song, i absolutely adore it. :) <3 |
