| Coldplay – The Scientist Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I have always loved this song, but the meaning of it for me has changed over the last few months. I now see the song from the perspective of losing a loved one, one that you felt like you should have maybe seen more or maybe there was something you wanted to tell them. "come up to meet you, and tell you I'm sorry, you don't know how lovely you are" I see this line in particular from the perspective of losing someone who meant a lot to you but you never really told them how much they meant to you. Maybe I just see it this way because I have been through such experiences, none the less this song has got me through some very tough times and is one of my favourite songs of all time. |

Maggie and many other Colin Hay songs including: I just don't think I'll ever get over you & waiting for my real life to begin are all based on this tragic event in Colins life when he found out that his first real love (whom he never got over) had died. The line from Maggie: "hey darlin boy, don't you cry for me, I am forever your now that I am free" and the line from Waiting for my Real Life to Begin: "I already have a plan, i'm waiting for my real life to begin" are both written about the note that Maggie left him after she committed suicide. I just don't think I'll ever get over you is also written about Maggie, in my views the most beautiful and powerful song ever written. |

| Colin Hay – I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You Lyrics | 16 years ago |

This song is my favourite song of all time. Just after I broke up with my girlfriend I heard this song and it pretty much summed up everything I was feeling- and still am. "And if I lived til I were a hundred and two, I just don't think I'll ever get over you" Its one of those million dollar lines that are so simple, yet so amazingly powerful. The closest a songs ever come to making me cry. |
