I like this song, and in all honesty I do prefer the Fear Factory cover, but here's what the song means to me (regardless of who's playing it). My boyfriend and I would always go for long drives & road trips to "escape" where we lived, and visit friends & family; this song just reminds me of how at ease we always were when we went for the drives, especially the line "I can listen to you, It keeps me stable for days." |

Ok, I see the religious significance in the lyrics but I think that to answer the question of what this song means to me, in particular, is some collaboration of the mystifying love defined by religion as well as the love that we have for one another (someone we love deeply, i.e: friends, family and/or lovers). I think that there are many more ways to perceive this song, but I for one, think that it is, in essence, describing the mystery & redeeming qualities of powerful love (religious or otherwise). |

i dont know about the "obsessively" in love comments. i mean i suppose, it could come off that way. Ever love someone so much you would do anything for them? reminds me of loving a very close friend but being too shy to go for it with him.. thank god he finally came around. |

MaverickX, you state that you're pretty sure the Bible says that Jesus died for us. Okay, this may get a little complicated & sticky. As due to my Catholic upbringing I can attest to that is true; However, the belief is that Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit are very different parts of the one whole.. In turn, meaning that on a technicality, God did die for us.
I don't know how much I believe in all that, but I just wanted to straighten out any confusions you may have had. At least with how I was raised in the Catholic Church, it makes sense. |

Everytime i hear this song, it brings tears to my eyes. I can just picture it being about either abortion or adoption, and I always think about my mother and the choice she made to give my brother and sister better lives by letting them go, and how her life finally became normal but she still wondered about how life would be if they were here with us, instead... |
