I think the song is about opiate addiction. Firstly I think the first line is also misinterpreted and is actually "Take me into the night and I'm an easy lover" and that it means that being on opiates feels like being in the arms of a metaphorical lover. "Take me into the fight and I'm an easy brother" refers to the confidence or help with pain that opiates brings to a fight or if injured. "Burn my sweet effigy" is the burning of heroin or opium to smoke. "Spill my guts on a wheel I wanna taste uh-huh" I think should be "I wanna taste of her" and is talking about being dopesick and needing to taste the drug to relieve the sickness. "I'm on fire" is the horrible feeling of withdrawal, like a fire burning the skin and of a fever burning you up. "Wire me up to machines I'll be your prisoner" A prisoner of addiction. "Find it hard to believe You are my murderer" I think it means that it's hard to believe something that can make you feel so good as opiates do can also kill you. "Move on, You got to move on I'm gonna get you real good So you can shake on" Get you real good also refers to the opiates taking you and giving you the shakes in withdrawal.
