I love this song. I think the first part is about how we are all pressured to run aroud and do things with our lives and the part about being in the crowded room I think means when you are going through your life and you are surrounded by people that mean little to nothing to you and you mean nothing to then except the one person you love who you are happy to be with even if the world is burning down. The chorus means that you have to slow down and lay down and look at the sky and see the magic that is all around you. Then the part about the water rising up is again about feeling like you are being swallowed by the world but then again something extraordinary catches your eye and you appreciate the magic of the world. Then the boxing I think is less of a metaphor but actually when you lay out with someone and look up at the stars and pretend to grab and swing at them and then life as we know it consumes everyone around but it doesn't matter because it's woderful and dark blue meaning you and the one you love have eachother and can still see the magic. |

This song is gorgeous. I believe that it is about going through life enjoying it to the fullest never letting an opportunity pass you by, but at the same time never having stability or ever letting anyone into your life until that one special person comes along and finally "shoves" you into having the one thing that you never had saying let me in, let me know you, your world, and how you view yourself and let yourself become vulnerable. And as much as alot of people might hate me for this, it reminds me alot of the relationship they had made with Clark and Lana on smallville |
