to me this song sais so much.. i think it's about getting your heart broken, it doesn't really matter if it was because of cheating, or even death itself... but it talks about how someone is separated from their reason for living. It could definetely talk about the person thinking about killing themselves too.. This is how i understand the song: "All that I had was all I gonn' get. " i won't get any better than you, "All I gonn' get is gone with your step All I gonn' get is gone with your step" i won't have anything to look forward to, because you took my reason for living "So tell me when you hear my heart stop You're the only one that knows" you know you broke my heart... "Tell me when you hear my silence There's a possibility I wouldn't know." tell me when there's nothing left inside of me, because i might not realize it "Know that when you leave, Know that when you leave," by leaving you know what you're leaving behind, you know what will happen to me... "By blood and by mean, you walk like a thief," in every way, you know that you hurt me, and that you got away with it "by blood and by mean, and I fall when you leave." you know i won't make it without you "So tell me when my sorrow's over," tell me.. when will the pain stop? "you're the reason why I'm close." (this could mean close as in near or as in closed, i like the second meaning...) you're the reason why i can't keep going i can't let anything good in anymore "Tell me when you hear me falling," tell me when you finally see me hurt and snap "there's a possibility it wouldn't show." "By blood and by mean, and I fall when you leave." i'll be psicially and emotionaly destroided when you leave "By blood and by mean, I follow your lead." i'll leave too.. leave everything behind, end it. |

this is well my interpretation, based yet again on what i'm going through... To me this song is about being taken over by something else, it could be anorexia, or it could be another person, or anything else that could make you feel bad about yourself... "Tell me what I'll never be Make me feel broken" (Making that person feel about about themselves.. "Tell me what I should believe I didn't know it was broken" (talking about how, its taken over the person's minds, and it is changing the way they see things or it is trying to impose a thought into them, like leaving them no choice but believe it, or go along with it..) "And I'm gunnin' for you I'm gunnin' for you" (some of you said gunning could stand for "watching out for someone" i think its more like, hurting, i'm hurting for you, like a sacrfice that the person is making for something or someone else) "And I will wait, I'll write another letter to myself" (like saying they have nobody else they can turn to, but themselves) "And I will find out that morning comes faster alone" (again feeling alone, and thinking it's better to go through it alone) "I hate the way you look at me As if I was broken" (agian making them feel bad about themselves, and they are realizing that they are wrong to let that thing hurt them, but they can't do much) "And the perfection of my frailty Has been questioned and broken" (they are questioning if, the hurt that they are going through is actually worth it) "And I feel like I'm fine today I feel like I'm ready to take this on" (getting the strength to get away from that that is hurting them, and be happy again) "And I'll fight you to the grave for it I'll never let you take a part of me with you" (that they will not be the end of them, that they can get out of it..) I think this could be about an abusive realtonship too.. Maybe it's just my personal life interfiring with my thoughts.. but it sure fits I think there's this sort of hidden thought in it, like even thought they are being hurt, they find some kind of confort or happiness n what is hurting them.. |

i think its about cheating, or doing something and then regreting it he tries everything but she won't take him back and he's feeling guilty "lips are turning blue" she's cold toward him.. not like before "a kiss you can't renew" he can't do anything to get back what they had "I only dream of you, my beautiful" he only thinks about her, and what he has done "tiptoe to your room a starlight in the gloom" he looks at her from where she can't see him because she won't let him in closer "sing for absolution" he's asking for frogiveness although he knows he won't get it "nowhere else to hide" his guilt is not letting him go on |

i think that a soldiers poem isn't that well liked becasue its sort of directed to certain people with certain circumstances.. its very different that what we are used to listening to but if you listen to it as a whole it isn't a bad song its just not "like muse" |

i think it is good that thye have viarity in their albums and well hysteria and falling away with you aren´t the same or sober and unintended in showbiz.. they always have quiet songs .. personally there are times where i rather listen to the slow ones or just the loud songs.. if they didn't have the slow songs i'd probably get bored of always listening to upbeat peices. like the quiet songs add layers to muse |
