this song seems to be about a girl that hurts him extremely because he says "shell lead you on, spit you out" and "you're gonna die tonight". but somehow he doesnt want their relationship to end, although he tries to convince himself ("give her up"). but still he begs the girl to keep the relationship going ("But I need you to keep us alive") and in the end he says that both of them know its right. it seems as if josh was pissed off when he wrote this song and wants to get his revenge ("i wrote this song just to piss you off") although he knew that everything will be fine after the fight they seem to have had (which made him write that song i suppose). three cheers for sweet revenge haha! |

back to the meaning: i think it's about a relationship that broke (obviously) after eighteen months. the girl is always drunk and that upsets the guy. maybe she drowns her feelings and sorrows in alcohol. the guy thinks that it's the girls fault and vice versa (You said I've got cold and our heat has gone. I wanna be your eyes so you can see what you've done. I wanna be your ears so you can hear everything that's been missing). the saying finders keepers is a lie, because he found her and kept her for 18 months but wasn't able to keep her forever. i think the line "old habits die hard and im too young to die" refers to him being her "old habit" because they were dating for such a long time and now she wants him gone. he on the other hand doesnt want to leave because hes "too young to die", which means he does not really want this relationship to end (which makes me think that the girl broke up with him). also the second verse points in that direction. later in the song he turns to be rather mad than sad... he warns the other boys to stay away from her because shes not a good match and he warns her that she will be sorry and will understand what she lost someday... thats only my interpretation, but i think it totally fits the lyrics^^ |

i think that one's pretty obvious. it's about people who believe every gossip they read or hear (in forums e.g.) about the band and that it sucks that those people don't think for themselves. they believe everything only cause they've heard it from a random person. btw, they're so right! even if your not in a band, you'll know what gossip can do to you. one day you're pregnant, the other day you're a drug addict... and people just believe it no matter what you tell them. thats sooo unfair and annoying |
