I like your take on the 'I'm not who I was before' because I was just thinking about Selena Gomez took Nick back even though in I Won't Apologize she takes an obvious stab at Nick and Miley when she says 'you used me to get her' |

This song may be about Selena Gomez. Because her mom had her when she was a teenager and her dad didn;t stay with her and her mom. It may also be about Demi Lovato, because her dad also didn't stay, but I'm not sure how old Demi's mom was when she had her. I think the 'rose garden' represents the show business and how there are good things about it and bad things about it. The thorns represent the negative parts about show business and how nasty and cut-throat it can be. A thorn can hurt you easily, like the show business. I think the 'flower shop in town' is talking about when she worked on Barney in her hometown to help out her and her mom. 'She was young but not naive' is talking about how Selena was forced to grow up fast when she got on Disney, and when she had to work at a young age on Barney. 'Don't let those petals fall on you' is telling the girl not to let Hollywood suck her in. |

I think this song is about when Selena Gomez and Nick went out in the summer of 2008. Nick begins by saying they reconnect but he 'remembers that we already did this' he remembers the good times they had. then he says 'keep on movin' like you did last summer when the grass was greener and your hair was longer.' Selena Gomez and Nick Jonas dated in summer of 2008, 'the grass was greener' is not only referring to the weather, but to the time when Selena and Nick got along. The 'your hair was longer' bit is simple. In summer of 2009, Selena Gomez cut her hair in a bob. So last summer, her hair was longer. The 'become familiar with another in town' bit is talking about when Selena briefly dated Taylor Lautner, and being 'in town' means he's in the show business, because 'the town' sometimes represents Hollywood. The second verse begins with 'you walk around with your new man, new plan.' The new man is obviously Taylor Lautner, and I know this is kind of stretch but the 'new plan' may be her singing career. Nick really wants her back, but she thinks they're over. The chorus repeats itself a couple of times and it ends with him basically saying 'don't forget about when you actually liked me.' haha |
