| I think he is speaking people who tend to gossip and spread rumors. He wants some one to tell him not to worry and avoid those types of people. I get a mental picture of him being in his house thinking of all these inconsiderate people...he's not wanting to even answer his phone thinking it might be someone asking him if all these stories are true. He talk of "these walls".. Him not answering the door, and just trying with all his might to turn a deaf ear so he might not hear these lies. | |

| I think he is trying to tell himself that she is just wasting his time..but in reality he is for some resaon completely enamored with her. he starts thinking of the future he used to wants..possibly a doctor?? To me this song is talking about how everyone sometimes ignores the reality of life and tends to sugarcoat life. do the birds sing of peace? While bullets rip the sky for wars From idiots and guns Am I to adhere to the fears we hold so dear? It aches within our hearts As we stuff our shopping carts ..here he talks of war and how people can tend to view it as not a big issue, he also seems to address commercialism and overindulgence. It is also put into perspective through a relationship where he cant seem to pretend that this person is good for him, when he believes she could be the death of him...he is scared and always will be of this fasacde of a person. |
