Yes, it's about being noticed (or unnoticed, in this case) by the person you like (could be someone famous, like your idol, or just some random person you are attracted to). And those people who say that Davey's gay, HE IS NOT! He is not even bisexual, he's straight. Jade made an official statement that Davey was not gay or bi. People just assume he is because he wears make up and used to have long hair. But it was just style, style doesn't define sexual orientation. He's an exact example of that. So quit saying Davey's gay, everyone's sick of it, us die hard fans as well as AFI themselves. Oh, and if you're thinking the Jeffree Star thing, as they are commonly seen together and have pictures together, Davey and Jeffree are just good friends but nothing more. Sorry to burst your bubble. |

Okay, here's how I take this song. He used to date this girl, and had to leave for some reason. I think neither of them wanted him to leave, but he had to, or something. The girl promised him she'll wait for him endlessly, so they could continue where they ended after he was back. Then, after some time (probably several years?) he came back to their old home finding it empty, the girl left. She didn't wait for him endlessly as she was supposed to. But he keeps waiting for her, endlessly, wanting her to come back, even though he knows she won't come back. OK, I might got it wrong, but that's what I understand it like. |

I see a lot of people differently take this song, a lot of people think it's about vampires. This could be one way you take it, yes (: But AFI's songs can be understood in many different ways. When at first I didn't know all the exact lyrics, my first association was murder. But after I read them in whole and thought better about them, I do agree it's probably about vampires. Hence the name 'The Killing Lights', as vampires are killed in sunlight. |

This song is pretty awesome. I won't say it's AFI's best, because then I'd lie, but it's surely in my top 20 by them. The lyrics are pretty self-explanatory, it's about a 10-year-old kid who wants to grow up fast and do stuff his older friends do, like go to shows, wear a mohawk, and be 'cool'. Unlike lots of AFI's songs, this one is really easy to figure out. I do find easier to explain AFI's older lyrics then newer ones (like from Decemberunderground), though. Back then they were more direct, but now they just turn things around and use more poetic language. Anyway, AFI always were, are, and always will be an awesome band. |
