Mumford & Sons – The Cave Lyrics 15 years ago
I have to admit that Allegory of the Cave didn't enter my mind until I read this comment, but I can see how it totally makes sense. I see where people are getting how it's about a relationship, but I also totally understand this connection as well. Finally coming out of your cave into the light to experience the new.

Eisley – Ambulance Lyrics 16 years ago
Perhaps one of the most stunning songs I've ever heard. Perfect timing to find this song.

I'm sure that Eisley wrote this song with a specific meaning, but to me this song is a broken heart speaking out to who broke them or to the people trying to fix it. They need help to heal, but they can't be expected to be over it in no time at all. They need someone to come in and be their redeemer and fix them in a way that will leave the smallest of scars. Love is not perfect and it hurts, but we can be saved...

"I need an ambulance. I took the worst of the blow. Send me a redeemer."

Rosie Thomas – Paper Doll Lyrics 16 years ago
Personally, I take these lyrics as going through life keeping up appearances. People have an image of "me" and instead of be true to who "I" am, "I" just go along in the cookie cutter world, allowing people to "dress me up" (make my decisions, choose how I should feel and act) and just pasting on a smile and relenting my own free will and true emotions to them. And as much as "I" hate it, "I" don't want to disappoint anyone so "I" keep everything else inside and "choose not to raise up my voice."

"I" am afraid to be who "I" really am and become a paper doll in the hands of those around "me".

...perhaps that not what is meant by the lyrics, but that's what I get from it!
