In my opinion it's more like God's drifting in heaven, not really 'caring' following by the 'Devil in the mailbox' Referring to the people that want to help you out but, while trying, are smashing the facts right in your face.. It's a beautiful song that can be used for many purposes.. I lost my father 2 years ago and this song hurts me as much as it could hurt anyone who lost a loved one. Don't get me wrong. I believe in God. With the 'not caring' part, what I want to say is that God is not the one that doesn't care, it's YOU who's havin' the feeling of somebody not caring. *I hope everyone is gettin' the message I'm trying to deliver.. 'cause I'm not a native English speaker..* |

Beautiful song! Along with 'On The Death Of The Waters' one of the best opening songs on an album. To me, this song is about nuclear tests/ a nuclear explosion somewhere, perhaps on an island. The last two parts of the song discribe the explosion and the aftermath. |
