I love Gemma Hayes, the way she sings what she writes just moves me.
I think in this song, she is telling a story implying 3 people, her, the man she loves with whom she had a great connexion, and the woman he loves more than her.
It is more about the way you are In, the other person promises you a forever and you buy it because you think the kind of connection you have is one of a kind, but then he leaves to another one to whom he promises the same things, and all you have to do is to move on and erase the thoughts of him.

I don't know, but I think the guy she talks to is choosing between her and another woman "the heartbeat of this girl", and he constantly changing his mind.oing back and forth about who he wants to be, and this hurts her a lot, because he gives her hope then he makes "gold falling from the ceiling of this world". so she'd rather keep her feelings to herself, and move on with other boys that would go on and on but would never be like him. She prefers that to him playing her again. |

I love Fink, and I love the great writer he is!
I think this song is about a guy who split from the one he loves because of external problems ..my guess is rumors or maybe the geographical distance. He sings about what could've been between them both "How special we could be if we were left alone", regretting a great relationship ruined because of a stupid thing that both of them couldn't prevent.
"Under the same stars" is just a way for him to find an ultimate link to that person, since nothing reunites them anymore... or maybe a reminder that nothing changed besides the "problem" |

At first when I heard this song, I felt it was about a wish .. something incomplete .. I think it is about her childhood love, but "from her lips I heard her say can I have you, I said you do" just told me he is with another girl now .. she lost him though she is still hang up on him, and she just wishes she could go back to old days, have a mango tree and take pictures of him.. |

I can realte to this song, it reminds me of my latest relationship, I was so much in love with that guy .. but he wasn't ready for this kind of feelings... he was scared of me being so much into him, but i couldn't not fall for him.
