All the evidence provided by fellow commentators above, below and around, point to conclusion that for James the all important music gear completed him and that without it he lost part of his essence. The musical metaphor, and equation to the suicide is pretty much how one can feel is the only way to deal with loss of oneself, when your soul is ripped out of you and there is nothing what you can do, the space will be grow back some day but the memory of what you lost will remain. Just think of the way you feel when something/someone important to you, completed you, made you one, was lost, stolen, gone, take or simple walked away from you. You are empty and lost, with no will to live... Meaningless existence and its pain silenced by deathly embrace. It is powerful song of grief and of emptiness in this void where powerful emotions Well he moved on luckily to actually Sing This Awsome Song. Now that i know the circumstances of its inception i like it even more. |

The Song and Music, the lyrics, title ... All about this song is so well put together that it may be nearly perfect hahaha. It is brilliant and this is practically the only song I listen from Dimmu Borgir. As to the meaning, I think the same, It references human nature, and the lies we sell to our self as humanity to better our egos and justify the idiosyncrasies of the times, the hypocrisy, the need too believe we are better while in fact we live in a dream that is not true, the kings of carnival creation, the masters who play the illusions, and capitalize on the herd they control… Why the hell we do not chose to look trough these illusions, lies and deceptions!!! This songs rocks the socks and any awaken soul will sing with it.! Yeah ! Trub… |

Well WIKI provides this reference on the subject of this song. -In a VH1 documentary, Dio also stated that the lyrics reflected his feelings after leaving Black Sabbath, as he felt alone and rejected, hence a "Rainbow in the Dark".- I seams reasonable to assume that it is the case. We do not know what really happened there and what was said. This song seams to be part of unfinished conversation/argument and previously unexpressed emotions ;> |

It is Song of Fear perhaps hate and/or even depicting moments when you succumb to fear and abandon all what made you, you. -It could depict the struggle and surrender, when another more dominant personality is emerging or engulfing your mind — it can’t harm you physically, but sure as hell it can terrify you. -Run, run, run, run away!- -One that has been grown out of darkness, suppressed anger, pain and Fear — the ultimate master. Other then that — I think that everyone here reflected his or hers thoughts and personalities in this mirror I find all of the opinions rather agreeable, and well it can be also as trivial as practical jibe at fools with unresolved issues, insecurities and undeveloped personalities, The ones that are blinded by their hate and emotions, the ones who misunderstand and have ears but not listen. They are fed by anger they feel towards strangers. They the ones who see themselves as outcasts, hurt, full of hate, pain. Bla blab la.. It could be anything and only DIO knows the truth :D It would be interesting to find some article about that. I am sure some journalist have popped that question Damn good song :D This is art. |
