He speaks of this perfect love, we cloud idea and wonderment whether this song is about beliefs/objectives in life, or that woman. nobody is perfect and the raven with the broken wing may be this lady's messenger that she really is human more thoughts flow from my face than words to my fingers onto this page but i hope you guys get what i thought about, forgot about, and scrambled onto this page about. i agree to most of what everybody has put upon this page and it really is great to waste all our time on this stuff. Most of what you say is great mate, don't mind if this 13 year old Australian boy fills in your blanks though :D -- In ceremonies of the horsemen, -- Even the pawn must hold a grudge. "Not sure" The 'pawn' or the 'nobody' (who is probably actually more than somebody, [but not in today's culture]) must hold a grudge to follow upon the pointless rituals of which you speak of earlier. he must hold a grudge, for the society which he is trying to follow, respected this man (i see the horseman as a fighter or a representative) i believe this part connects with the previous segment which you have divided, -- The cloak and dagger dangles, -- Madams light the candles. to me i see this as warning and preparation of undoubted bad to come, or death. Madams light the candles in mourn or maybe in prayer for this horseman who served the public The cloak and dagger dangles, kinda teasing you that death is round the corner -- Statues made of match sticks, "Not very strong" I reckon when he's not speaking strongly, he's just simply putting it, in a kind of "sigh..." way Statues made of matchsticks to me means as you said, following today's culture, following on, everybody being 'successful' by following society the matchsticks indicate "easy to make with, easy to break". whatever you're making is not very durable and frankly if you spent two seconds more you could have built your foundations (that's right, eat my pun :D ) of life out of a much better source it's not really pure effort, making with matchsticks. although some people can make phenomenal things with matchsticks and a big bag of time and effort -- Crumble into one another, "Not very strong A contrast of the man made, the weak, the crap - that are breaking down" yeah, all that stuff made while following on is pretty pointless. it dies and crumbles some people spend so long on things but it's still just matchsticks cheeeeers mate, i have English homework, a poetry assignment. i love this song too. Bob Dylan is my idol i am definately going to analyse this song for school, which means i have one more poem to find... i'll probably pick another song :P awesome because i've done half my work here :) |
