As MA puts it 'think for yourself' is the underlying inspiration for almost all their work. Though I feel Immortal Rites must be referring to some sumerian mythical practice of casting a spell of our inner spirits but I also largely feel that it has a very good spiritual touch point. Totally applicable in a world where every human is so sucked into consumption and every human mind is a welcoming empty book for someone to fill-up. Overall the beauty of the song is about releasing the finer aspects of our existence like the soul and the spirit which is immortal and trapped in this form of flesh and bones ! |
