This song is about a crumbling relationship. Then one day you awake with a fear you can't shake this part talks about a young person living life to the fullest and being happy, until one day he finds himself in a bad job with nothing exciting happening. He's scared because he wonders what happened to the young happiness. But can you still remember your very first kiss or the future you hoped for when we were still kids? Stay young, stay young. this part talks about how sometimes young people have the biggest dreams ever but when they get older they dont believe in themselves as much and settle for something less. There are constants like gravity, heartbreak and shame, you can never out-run them, they're part of your name like lessons you learn from a past you can't change, stay young, stay young this basically says that you will experience hard times in your life but you gotta keep believing in your values that you had when you were younger. for a lifetime of paying dues and ruthless reviews, yeah it's hard not to end up a cynic when everyone's too scared to walk in your shoes but can work up the nerve to be critics. this part talks about how sometimes people can judge you when they themselves are just as bad. Also it talks about how if you truly stand up for what you believe in and keep your younger values that everyone will judge you but you still gotta keep living that way. Don't lose your soul. This part means that you shouldnt give up control of your life. Its your life and you can do whatever you want with it. So dont think that you have to settle for being something less than you want.
