| Angels and Airwaves – Et Ducit Mundum Per Luce Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I'm studying latin, and actually that translation is not necessarily true. Et means "And" Ducit is the third-person form of the verb ducere which means to lead, so it could also be she leads or it leads. Mundum is accusative form of mundus, which means either, universe/heavens/world or mankind, depending on context. Per means by or through. Luce means light, but since the sentence implies that something is lead by/through it, it should be in the accusative form, i.e. lucem. So it could basically mean: And he/she leads the universe/heavens/world/mankind by/through light. As I see it it is free to personal interpretation, since it's hard to tell what is implied. I might be wrong though, I've only studied latin for some months now : / Nonetheless, epic intro to an epic album! |
