What I get from this song is what Jesus did for us. I know it sounds odd, but some of the parts of the song sorta link. Like when he says "I'll write you a letter that you'll keep, reminding you your love for me is more than six feet deep" To me it sounds like Jesus leaving us his word, being the bible, therefor a letter. And it reminds us of his love, that is stronger than death, because he defeated death out of love for us. Really the whole song just makes me think of what Jesus did. Cause saying hes faking his own suicide. Jesus died and came back to life. And Jesus did so because he knew we loved him, we just didn't know it yet. |

I just got this album not to long ago. Already a fan of tenth avenue north, but this album brings me closer. I write lyrics a lot, and I always feel God's help when I do write. I can feel God within their songs, and this song especially just brings me to tears. I think we all need to be reminded about how much we really our. But the only way we our, is because of what Jesus did for us. With him, all of what we have done doesn't matter. He let his body be broken and he let his blood be spilled for us. I'm working in my life to not take what he did for granted. God bless everyone. Don't give up on him, because he hasn't given up on you. I have even seen his work in peoples life recently. I have gotten to see the work he does, in peoples lives. Some people try to say that God is not here. But he is very well here and he is calling you home. |

Hmm I really don't know what to think of this song. I really love Red, but this song is different. To me if I had any idea of what I thought it was saying it would be this. I think it might be talking about us living our lives. Before we know Christ we live in a world of sin, without anyway of being forgiven. If Christ didn't do what he does, our only place to go would be the devil. What I think is its him without Christ. living a life of sin and finally once everything hits the fan hes asking what happened. He thought everything would be okay, he was believing the devils lies. The part that gets me is "Cut me I bleed, reveal me I need - I finally broke in the pressure" Hes saying I bleed meaning he is human. He is wanted to be reviled, he wants to stop trying to run from God. He thought his life was great and he didn't need God, but he finally broke. Anyway that's what I get from this song. Well, this song almost brought me to tears. I really have no clue whom it is about, a lot of people say his daughter, some say a lover, and some other answers. I think the one that would make the most since would be that lucy was his daughter. Although I don't really know anything about him. But I have a feeling that he wasn't drunk, I'm thinking it might have just been a car accident. 12 roses, has no other meaning to me but just being a bouquet. The parts that really make me think it could have been talking about his daughter would be. "I just came to talk for a while, I got some things I need to say" this sounds like he has a few things to say that he didn't get the chance to. Thus an accident that wasn't expected. And most likely a sudden death. Then the part that makes a lot of sense that it might be a daughter would be "I'd give up all the world to see that little piece of heaven looking back at me" note he says little. The part that makes me not think it was an abortion - miscarriage would be. "Just another moment in your eyes, I'll see you in another life" So this sounds like to me that he saw her eyes, and has seen her before. Anyway great song, God be with us, and help us make it through those choices we make. |

Well I think this is about God. I have walked away from Christ before, and before to long, I already knew I did something wrong. Though I still tried to make it on my own. But the only thing that I find that wouldn't connect to this type of situation is when he says "I can't fill the emptiness inside since you've been gone" and also where he says "But I know there's something more to us than our mistakes" note he says Our mistakes. So in a way I think this may be talking about someone else but God. I have read before that he has a bad relationship with his father. I don't know much about the band, I have listened to them for a few years now. But I never tried to find out more about them, I even saw them in concert at atf 2008. But from the two statements I mentioned above I believe this song is about someone other then God. Could it be his father? Or someone else? Anyway it is a great song, and the cd is amazing. Keep up the good work skillet. God be with us. |

Very amazing song. It means so much. It's saying we want to fit in with the "Cool" crowd. We try to do whatever we can for people to like us. Soon enough we start getting angry, we can't even see God. We wonder why couldn't we fit in with the "Cool" people. Then he says it's enough hes ready to give up what hes been doing and run to God. That by letting go of living the way he was he was "Unshackled and unbound". Then he is calling for God to save him from the mess he made. Anyway it is a very amazing song. It means a lot to me, cause I have been finding that it's cooler to live for God, and to know where you are going. Rather then live for evil. Anyway I'm pretty sure he says "Unshackled and unbound" not "I'm tackling and I'm bound". God bless. |

Sorta what I get from it, but I don't get by what you mean we shouldn't judge people, but judge their sins. Unless I read it wrong, cause we are forgiven of our sins, also all of us sin, so it doesn't make sense to point the finger. To me this could be when he first started learning about Christ. But it could also be about the rest of the time after first start learning about him. Till the day we die. Anyway my favorite part of this song is the very end. Something we all forget to do, and it's something I really believe we need to do. "Are you read to live your life? Are you healed enough? Can you stop? Can you stop and enjoy the ride?" God bless. |

Wow, this song is amazing. I have been a fan of anberlin for about 2 years now. But it took me truly finding God to truly understand what this song means. It is an awesome song, and I thank God for it. What I get from it is. I feel this song is so much about Jesus Christ and the love he has for us. The intro, tugging at my heart strings, Wow. I feel it's talking about how awesome Jesus really is. He is breathe taking. Also the next part, the closer I come to you, the closer I am to finding God. Makes me think of the Verse that says no one gets to the father, unless he comes through me. The verse may be a bit difference but still it says Jesus is the only way of getting to God. So I feel it's saying the closer you Get to Jesus the closer you are to getting to God. The next part, he is saying how on fire he is for God. Just to feel him. That he would do anything even dance with the dead because he believes and has faith in God. I'm guessing in some part of scripture it says that Jesus stifles Paul. The last part, if these words are his last, hes asking for a last request. The part talking about hold me here, until I fall asleep, I think hes asking God to hold him and keep him safe until the day he dies. Also if hes going to do anything, he wants to do it for God.
