Geez, this song hits home hard for me. O_o This song just fits the experience I went through in the past, and still do to this day. This song describes exactly how I feel. This songs seems like it is about depression: resenting yourself and wishing you could be somebody else, afraid to glance at yourself in the mirror, not believing you are who you wanted to be at this point of your life, being your our worst enemy. However, being that Skillet is a Christian band, it could do something with God. But I most likely think this doesn't. =) My favorite song off the album Awake, without a doubt. |

This song reminds about of my past, when my father passed away in 2005. This lyrics STRONGLY remind me of my mother, standing by my father's bedside everyday and everything she felt during those days. You really don't need a full explanation to understand what this song's meaning is. You really don't. I thought my mom was going to cry then I first showed this song, honestly. O_o But an amazing song, in fact, the word "amazing" is a complete understatement. It's beautiful, and a melody that brings me back five years. Breaking Benjamin just keeps impressing me with each album. <3 |

I think this song's meaning is completely clear. It reminds me of what somebody I know is going through, very much so. Probably my favorite song off their new album. It's a great song that rhymes a lot, and that keeps it with a good beat. :3 P.S: Off the Album's booklet lyrics, it's "You fake your damnation." not "You face your damnation." and "I hope you're happy and hurting inside" should be "I hope you're unhappy and hurting inside." |

This song definitely sounds like somebody committed suicide. Either in a relationship or a family member, but mostly a relationship as it seems. "Too late, too late I never said goodbye Too late, too late Can't even ask you why" He/she was too late to stop the one who took their own life. He/she never got to say goodbye to that person, and he/she can't ask why because they wouldn't understand. "Cause here I don't belong" I think this message is clear, obviously this person believes that he/she doesn't belong here, they belong by the side of the person that committed suicide. But other than meaning, I love this song. One of my favorites by them. <3 |
